Students Invent Water Purification Disc That Could Revolutionize Clean Water Access - Africa

imagee

Students at the University of Virginia have developed a new way of purifying water that they say could bring improved water quality for millions in the developing world.  It’s called a Madi Drop. Field testing begins this month in South Africa.
The lab operates like a kitchen. They add several ingredients. Then they mix, weigh, press and bake them.
What’s created is called a MadiDrop – a ceramic disc infused with silver.
When dropped in water, silver ions, which are atoms that have an electrical charge,, are released to purify the water.  And, testing here at the University of Virginia shows clean, safe water.
“It’s not just about making a really great technology that effectively removes or kills bacteria and pathogens.  It’s about making a low cost, simple to use one, tailored to people in developing countries who don’t have many resources,” said Beeta Ehdaie, a doctoral candidate at UVA.
The students are experimenting with different sizes of MadiDrops to correspond with different sized water containers.  Why the name “MadiDrop”?

The word “madi” means water in Tshivenda, a language of Limpopo Province in South Africa. Fifty women run a water filter factory, set up by the university in the province last summer.
The women mix sawdust and clay and make flower pot shaped filters that they use to purify drinking water.
The water flows through the filters to trap bacteria and solid particles. The factory sells the filters to local families. Manager Certinah Khashane says the work has changed the women’s lives.
“When they get money for those pots, they buy school uniforms for their children,” Khashane said.
But the MadiDrop is smaller and less expensive than the filters.  So, over the next few months, students will conduct field trials of the MadiDrop here in South Africa.
Water experts say further testing will determine if the MadiDrop is indeed a breakthrough. Maggie Montgomery, who is with the World Health Organization, explained what field testing should reveal.
“Do they find it convenient, does it have a certain taste they don’t like to the water, what happens once it becomes exhausted?,” she said.
If successful, the South African women will produce and sell MadiDrops. The goal is to expand the existing factories to other developing countries and impact millions of lives per year.
“Imagine a magic stone and you take this magic stone and you drop it in your water container.  It purifies the water and makes it safe to drink.  And then imagine that this magic stone only costs a few dollars. That’s what a MadiDrop is,”  said Jim Smith, the engineering professor leading the project.
The project has been presented to the American Chemical Society and the American Society of Civil Engineers.  Smith says he’s received calls from corporations interested in producing the MadiDrop….which might mean Smith and his students have truly invented a magic stone.

Birth of black hole witnessed!

RaptorThe virtual impossibility of observational astronomy has never been clearer. With astronomers having recorded so many events, now that they’ve used so many different instruments to wring all possible insight from what little information somehow makes it all the way to Earth, simply pointing telescopes at stars is providing diminishing returns. To keep moving forward we need to make use of the universe’s most unusual and, in many cases, violent events so we can see some truly novel data. It’s not just a matter of patience, since the the space industry can’t possibly set up enough telescopes to look everywhere at once. With so much depth through which to zoom, it would seem a lost cause to try to capture unexpected, short-lived events.

Rare Undersea Discovery Could Extend Your Life by 10, 20 or 30 Years

Rare Undersea Discovery Could Extend Your Life by 10, 20 or 30 Years
Humans have made incredible health strides and are living longer lives than ever.  Many of the maladies that struck down our ancestors have for the most part been completely eliminated – everything from tuberculosis, to polio to malaria.
Today, the biggest killers stem as much from our lifestyles as from microscopic bacteria and viruses.  One of the worst of these is heart disease, and specifically high blood pressure.

Science of TIME

It turns out Doctor Who was right: “Timey-wimey” is, indeed, a bit “wibbly-wobbly.”

Scientists have confirmed, several times, that the speed at which time passes is both variable and malleable. We can speed it up. We can slow it down. In fact, you do so every day without knowing it.

But before we explore the concept of time, we need to first explore the concept of gravity. We experience gravity two-dimensionally: up and down. However, gravity is not two-dimensional. If you were to drop a bowling ball off of a tower, it would fall down to the ground. If you were to drop a bowling ball off a tower in New York City at the same moment your Aussie friend dropped a bowling ball off a tower in Perth, both bowling balls would fall “down"—but they’d also be traveling in opposite directions. They’d be falling “down” as well as toward one another.

Earth’s gravity pulls all objects—from all directions—toward the center of the planet. We define “up” and “down” based on that gravitational pull. If you were to jump into a big underground drill and travel to the center of the Earth, you’d reach a point where there was no more “down”—only “up.” “Down” doesn’t exist at that point—at least in terms of the Earth.

Mass creates gravitational force. Therefore, all objects have gravity. The more mass an object has, the more gravitational force it exerts. Marbles have a little. I have some and would like less. Earth has the perfect amount, I’d argue. And Jupiter has a pantload. If you were to stand on the surface of Jupiter (a concept with which every geek reading this just started arguing), you would be pulled toward the center of the planet 154 percent harder than you are here on Earth. You’d weigh 254 percent of what you weigh here. You’d be crushed—not only emotionally, but physically as well.

Now, let’s take a step off the surface of these planets and explore what’s going on in the space around them. Our moon is held in orbit by the Earth’s gravitational pull. The Earth circles the Sun because of the Sun’s massive gravitational force. That’s all basic stuff we learned in fourth grade. Here’s where it gets wiblby-wobbly: Gravity also tugs at time and space.

In his 1905 special theory of relativity, Einstein asserted that space and time were not two separate phenomenons or entities. Instead, space (height, width, length) and time (forward? backward?) were mixed together in one continuum—woven together in one fabric. This single continuum of time and space has come to be called “spacetime”—the physical manifestation of all space and all time. I think of it as a soup. Spacetime is the broth and we’re the chunky bits floating about.

Think of spacetime soup this way: If you’re standing alone on top of a hill waiting for your significant other to wander up, you can point in an infinite number of directions: up, down, left, right, in front of you, behind you, slightly up-left, kinda down right, and so on. You can see and define the three physical dimensions of our universe. But if you stood perfectly still, you’d still move forward through time. At a point, your significant other would appear. And you would have traveled—while standing still on a hill—forward through time to that point.

In 1916, Einstein updated his special theory of relativity to account for gravity. Einstein’s first theory of relativity defined time as part of the physical world. (By “physical world” I mean all the aspects of the universe that exhibit as matter or energy—you know, that whole E=mc2 mass-energy equivalence thing.) This new theory of general relativity postulated that if time was, in fact, part of the physical world then gravity should affect time as well as space.

Scientists have confirmed this to be true several times since Einstein first put forth the idea. Using highly technical experiments and incredibly-sensitive instruments, people much smarter than I have been able to prove that gravitational force alters the speed of time. The most accessible example and proof of this phenomenon, I think, comes to us from the clocks aboard our nation’s GPS satellites.

There are a few dozen GPS satellites floating high above the Earth. Each satellite carries an atomic clock that, when on Earth, is perfectly precise and in sync with Earth time. However, when lifted to the less dense gravity of the upper atmosphere, the satellites’ atomic clocks speed up. Were an observer to fly up to one of these satellites and watch the on-board atomic clock, he would see no difference in the length of a second. It would still be that familiar tick, tick, tick of Earth seconds. At that level of gravity, he, too, would be moving faster through time and would therefore see one second to be one plain old second. But, from here on the Earth’s surface and from within our denser gravitational field, we can see that the seconds pass a little more quickly on the satellites.

Time is slowed by heavy gravity. Just as it's easier to swim through outer space, than it is through the atmosphere, than it is through water, than it is through rock, time moves more quickly through less dense gravity. Time passes more slowly on Jupiter than it does here on Earth. And, as the impatient clocks on the Mars rover prove, time passes more quickly on Mars due to its lighter gravitational pull.

Now, here’s where it gets really interesting. “Gravity” is the same as “gravitational force"—or G-force—or acceleration. Therefore, as Einstein explained in his famous “twin thought experiment,” objects in motion experience greater gravitational force (G-force) and therefore travel more slowly through time than objects that are standing still. Therefore, Einstein said (and physicists have since proven), if two 20-something twins with identical heart rates were separated—one stayed put on Earth, and one traveled away from Earth at light speed for six months and then back for six months—the traveling twin would be one year older, and the stationary twin would be in a nursing home gumming Jell-O.

Time for the traveling twin was slowed by the gravitational force created by traveling at light speed, and time rushed forward—though rather boringly—for the twin who was left behind. And, most interestingly, throughout the whole experiment, each twin experienced their own heart rates as nothing but normal the entire time.

The implications of this discovery and still-relatively-new-model-of-thinking are staggering. First, and most importantly, move your bed to your basement and your evil twin’s bed to the attic you’ll get a longer night’s sleep and outlive the thieving bastard. Secondly, if time is affected by gravitational force, and we can create gravitational force through acceleration—whether in a rocket or a merry-go-round—we can control time.

If we can control time, can we now claim to be time-travelers? And if so, where’s my TARDIS?

Scientists study possible health benefits of Psychedelic Drugs (LSD ecstasy, marijuana)

A growing number of people are taking LSD and other psychedelic drugs such as cannabis and ecstasy to help them cope with a variety of conditions including anorexia nervosa, cluster headaches, and chronic anxiety attacks.
LSD-Art-Life-magazine-001
The emergence of a community that passes the drugs between users on the basis of friendship, support, and need – with money rarely involved – comes amid a resurgence of research into the possible therapeutic benefits of psychedelics. This is leading to a growing optimism among those using the drugs that soon they may be able to obtain medicines based on psychedelics from their doctor, rather than risk jail for taking illicit drugs.
Among those in Britain already using the drugs and hoping for a change in the way they are viewed is Anna Jones (not her real name), a 35-year-old university lecturer, who takes LSD once or twice a year. She fears that without an occasional dose she will go back to the drinking problem she left behind 14 years ago with the help of the banned drug.
LSD, the drug synonymous with the 1960s counter-culture, changed her life, she says. “For me it was the catalyst to give up destructive behaviour – heavy drinking and smoking. As a student I used to drink two or three bottles of wine, two or three days a week, because I didn’t have many friends and didn’t feel comfortable in my own skin.
“Then I took a hit of LSD one day and didn’t feel alone any more. It helped me to see myself differently, increase my self-confidence, lose my desire to drink or smoke and just feel at one with the world. I haven’t touched alcohol or cigarettes since that day in 1995 and am much happier than before.”
Many others are using the drugs to deal with chronic anxiety attacks brought on by terminal illness such as cancer.
Research was carried out in the 1950s and 1960s into psychedelics. In some places they were even used as a treatment for anxiety, depression and addiction. But a backlash against LSD – owing to concerns that the powerful hallucinogen was becoming widespread as a recreational drug, and fear that excessive use could trigger mental health conditions such as schizophrenia – led to prohibition of research in the 1970s.
Under the 1971 Misuse of Drugs Act it is classified as a Class A, schedule 1 substance – which means not only is LSD considered highly dangerous, but it is deemed to have no medical research value.
Now, though, distinguished academics and highly respected institutions are looking again at whether LSD and other psychedelics might help patients. Psychiatrist Dr John Halpern, of Harvard medical school in the US, found that almost all of 53 people with cluster headaches who illegally took LSD or psilocybin, the active compound in magic mushrooms, obtained relief from the searing pain. He and an international team have also begun investigating whether 2-Bromo-LSD, a non-psychedelic version of LSD known as BOL, can help ease the same condition.
Studies into how the drug may be helping such people are also being carried out in the UK. Amanda Feilding is the director of the Oxford-based Beckley Foundation, a charitable trust that investigates consciousness, its altered states and the effects of psychedelics and meditation. She is a key figure in the revival of scientific interest in psychedelics and expresses her excitement about the initial findings of two overseas studies with which her foundation is heavily involved.
“One, at the University of California in Berkeley, was the first research into LSD to get approval from regulators and ethics bodies since the 1970s,” she said. Those in the study are the first to be allowed to take LSD legally in decades as part of research into whether it aids creativity. “LSD is a potentially very valuable substance for human health and happiness.”
The other is a Swiss trial in which the drug is give alongside psychotherapy to people who have a terminal condition to help them cope with the profound anxiety brought on by impending death. “If you handle LSD with care, it isn’t any more dangerous than other therapies,” said Dr Peter Gasser, the psychiatrist leading the trial.
At Johns Hopkins University in Washington, another trial is examining whether psilocybin can aid psychotherapy for those with chronic substance addiction who have not been helped by more conventional treatment.
Professor Colin Blakemore, a former chief executive of the Medical Research Council, said the class-A status of psychedelics such as LSD should not stop them being explored as potential therapies. “No drug is completely safe, and that includes medical drugs as well as illegal substances,” he said. “But we have well-developed and universally respected methods of assessing the balance of benefit and harm for new medicines.
“If there are claims of benefits from substances that are not regulated medicines – even including illegal drugs – it is important that they should be tested as thoroughly for efficacy and safety as any new conventional drug.”
Past reputations may make it hard to get approval for psychedelic medicines, according to the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency.
“The known adverse effect profiles of psychedelic drugs would have to be considered very carefully in the risk/benefit analysis before the drugs may be approved for medicinal use,” said a spokeswoman. “These products, if approved, are likely to be classified as a prescription-only medicine and also likely to remain on the dangerous drug list, which means that their supply would be strictly controlled.”

Scientific Research proof the Reality of Free Energy

Who is benefiting from suppressing scientific research? Whose power and wealth is threatened by access to clean and free energy? Who has the desire to create a system where so few have so much, and so many have so little?
It’s become extremely obvious, especially within the past few years, that Earth’s dependence on fossil fuels is not needed at all. Yet we continue to create war, destroy the environment and harm mother Earth so we can continue using the same old techniques that generate trillions of dollars for those at the top of the energy industry. Corporate media continues to push the idea that we are in an energy crisis, that we are approaching a severe problem due to a lack of resources.  It’s funny how the same group of shareholders that own the energy industry also own corporate media. This seems to be both another fear tactic and another excuse to create conflict. How can there be a lack of resources when we have systems that can provide energy without any external input? This means that these systems could run for infinity and provide energy to the entire planet without burning fossil fuels. This would eliminate a large portion of the ‘bills’ you pay to live, and reduce the harmful effect we are having on Earth and her environment. Even if you don’t believe in the concept of free energy (also known as zero-point energy), we have multiple clean energy sources that render the entire energy industry obsolete. This article however will focus mainly on the concept of free energy which has been proven time and time again by researchers all across the world who have conducted several experiments and published their work multiple times. A portion of this vast amount of research will be presented in this paper.
These concepts have been proven in hundreds of laboratories all over the world, yet never see the light of day. If the new energy technologies were set free world wide the change would be profound. It would affect everybody, it would be applicable everywhere. These technologies are absolutely the most important thing that have happened in the history of the world.   – Dr. Brian O’Leary, Former NASA Astronaut and Princeton Physics Professor.

The Research

These concepts are currently being discussed at The Breakthrough Energy Movement Conference.
The Casimir Effect is a proven example of free energy that cannot be debunked. The Casimir Effect illustrates zero point or vacuum state energy, which predicts that two metal plates close together attract each other due to an imbalance in the quantum fluctuations(0)(8). You can see a visual demonstration of this concept here. The implications of this are far reaching and have been written about extensively within theoretical physics by researchers all over the world. Today, we are beginning to see that these concepts are not just theoretical, but instead very practical and simply very suppressed.
Vacuums generally are thought to be voids, but Hendrik Casimir believed these pockets of nothing do indeed contain fluctuations of electromagnetic waves. He suggested that two metal plates held apart in a vacuum could trap the waves, creating vacuum energy that could attract or repel the plates. As the boundaries of a region move, the variation in vacuum energy (zero-point energy) leads to the Casimir effect. Recent research done at Harvard University, and Vrije University in Amsterdam and elsewhere has proved the Casimir effect correct (7).
A paper published in the Journal Foundations of Physics Letters, in August 2001, Volume 14, Issue 4 shows that the principles of general relativity can be used to explain the principles of the motionless electromagnetic generator (MEG)(1). This device takes electromagnetic energy from curved space-time and outputs about twenty times more energy than inputted. The fact that these machines exist is astonishing, it’s even more astonishing that these machines are not implemented worldwide right now. It would completely wipe out the entire energy industry, nobody would have to pay bills and it would eradicate poverty at an exponential rate. This paper demonstrates that electromagnetic energy can be extracted from the vacuum and used to power working devices such as the MEG used in the experiment. The paper goes on to emphasize how these devices are reproducible and repeatable.
The results of this research have been used by numerous scientists all over the world. One of the many examples is a paper written by Theodor C. Loder, III, Professor Emeritus at the Institute for the Study of Earth, Oceans and Space at the University of New Hampshire. He outlined the importance of these concepts in his paper titled Space and Terrestrial Transportation and Energy Technologies For The 21st Century (2).
There is significant evidence that scientists since Tesla have known about this energy, but that its existence and potential use has been discouraged and indeed suppressed over the past half century or more (2) – Dr. Theodor C. Loder III
Harold E. Puthoff, an American Physicist and Ph.D. from Stanford University, as a researcher at the institute for Advanced Studies at Austin, Texas published a paper in the journal Physical Review A, atomic, molecular and optical physics titled “Gravity as a zero-point-fluctuation force(3)” . His paper proposed a suggestive model in which gravity is not a separately existing fundamental force, but is rather an induced effect associated with zero-point fluctuations of the vacuum, as illustrated by the Casimir force. This is the same professor that had close connections with Department of Defense initiated research in regards to remote viewing. The findings of this research are highly classified, and the program was instantly shut down not longer after its initiation (4).
Another astonishing paper titled “Extracting energy and heat from the vacuum,” by the same researchers, this time in conjunction with Daniel C. Cole, Ph.D. and Associate Professor at Boston University in the Department of Mechanical Engineering was published in the same journal (5).
Relatively recent proposals have been made in the literature for extracting energy and heat from electromagnetic zero-point radiation via the use of the Casimir force. The basic thermodynamics involved in these proposals is analyzed and clarified here, with the conclusion that yes, in principle, these proposals are correct (5).
Furthermore, a paper in the journal Physical Review A, Puthoff  titled “Source of vacuum electromagnetic zero-point energy (6),” Puthoff describes how nature provides us with two alternatives for the origin of electromagnetic zero-point energy. One of them is generation by the quantum fluctuation motion of charged particles that constitute matter. His research shows that particle motion generates the zero-point energy spectrum, in the form of a self-regenerating cosmological feedback cycle.
Before commenting on the article, please read the article, look at the sources and watch the video. Many of your questions can be answered there. We’ve had major military people at great risks to themselves say yes these things are real. Why do you think the military industrial complex doesn’t want that statement to be made, because you start thinking about what kind of technology is behind that, that’s the bottom line.  – Adam Trombly, Physicist, Inventor
As illustrated multiple times above, the energy these systems use is extracted from the fabric of the space around us. That means it cannot be metered, which creates a threat to the largest industry on the planet, energy. An industry that is partly responsible for the destruction of our planet, and an industry that rakes in hundreds of trillions of dollars every year. No blame is to be given, only a realization is to be made that we have the power to change this anytime we choose. These technologies would completely change everything, but it’s important to remember that operating technology depends on what level of consciousness the operators are operating it at. Is the human race ready for such a transformation? Nothing can work unless the consciousness behind it comes from a place of love, peace, co-operation and understanding. The desire for the benefit of all beings on the planet would be the driving force for the release of these technologies.
These technologies are locked up in black budget projects, it would take an act of God to ever get them out to benifit humanity (2) – Ben Rich, Former Director of Lockheed’s Skunkworks Division
I hope I’ve provided enough information here for those interested in furthering their research on the subject. There is a lot to this technology, and it branches into many other areas from ancient history to sacred geometry and all the way to UFOs. The technology described in this paper is similar to what Dr. O’Leary states here with regards to propulsion systems and an isolated field of energy.  For more on this subject, please visit our exopolitics section under the alternative news tab as it does correlate with the technology of anti-gravity and free energy.

Medical Science and Astrology

Each zodiac sign has a corresponding cell salt that is deficient under that sign. When you learn about your particular cell salt, you will be well on your way to optimum health!
There is surprising amount of benefit in diagnosing and prescribing by the zodiac. Remember, as with all works of astrology, that to be truly accurate you should look up your moon and rising sign too.
Taking the cell salts daily is an excellent practice as they act as a regulator and organiser of tissue.
Medical Astrology - Medicine By The StarsWearing your gemstone to preserve health is a tradition going back many hundreds of years, particularly in Asia and the Orient. If you can, wear the stone so that it touches the skin. The message is that once you start wearing your gemstone, you never want to take it off.
Likewise the use of the sun sign colors is guaranteed to put more energy into your day. Try also wearing the colors of your ascendant and moon sign.

GEMINI IS QUICK, DRY AND NERVOUS.
Gemini under affliction runs to insomnia, nervous exhaustion, bronchitis, asthma, pleurisy and tuberculosis. Change is essential to the Gemini recuperation and their best environment for healing is new surroundings, away from the cares and worries of the world. The best therapies are breathing exercises and long walks in an unhurried setting, dry climate, and adequate sleep.
Potassium chloride has a strong action as a nerve stabiliser, and aids the health of blood protein and lung mucous membrane.
Strong foods are beans, asparagus, silverbeet, carrots, cauliflower, sweet corn, celery, apricots, peaches, plums and pineapple.

CANCER

Body Parts: The stomach, uterus and breasts.
Color: Silver, pale blues and greens.
Gemstone: Moonstone.
Cell Salt: Calcium fluoride.
CANCER IS COOL, MOIST, ENCLOSING, NUTRITIVE AND PASSIVE.
Cancer is prone to disorders brought on by emotional states. The stomach and uterus are affected principally, giving rise to indigestion, poor secretion of gastric juices, sensations of fullness and heaviness. With the uterus the complaints run to prolapse, retroversion, and infertility. The rulership of the lymphatics can give trouble with fluid accumulation.
The cell salt calcium fluoride is strengthening to connective tissue and has much to do with cross linking and general tissue strength. It is also useful in conditions such as prolapse.
Good sources of the salt are rye bread, cabbage, pumpkin, onions, grapes, oranges and lemons, though, as in all these cases, much depends on the nature of the soil.

LEO

Body Parts: The heart, blood, and dorsal spine.
Color: Yellow, orange and gold.
Gemstone: Golden Topaz.
Cell Salt: Magnesium phosphate.
LEO IS WARM, DRY AND EXCESSIVE.
Leo is prone to lack of moderation, drawing excessively on the vital stores. Illnesses are usually due to exhaustion of vital energy, which then effects the heart, spine and spleen. Blood pressure is a good measure of Leonine health, as is the straightness and flexibility of the spine. Severe Leo complaints are heart disease, hardening of the arteries, curvature and arthritis of the spine, disorders of the red and white blood cells.
Magnesium phosphate is excellent for Leo and helps maintain the health of the heart, the spinal muscles, and in fact all muscle.
Good foods are peas, oats, all citrus fruits, plums, apples, lettuce, almonds, cucumber.

VIRGO

Body Parts: Small intestine, digestive enzymes.
Color: Browns, beige, autumn tones.
Gemstone: Peridot.
Cell Salt: Potassium sulphate.
VIRGO IS MOIST, FEMININE AND PASSIVE.
Virgo health has much to do with the condition of the mind: worry, anxiety, and environmental influences can slowly deplete the nervous system, leaving a ragged, irritable state. The digestion suffers also, with malabsorption, constipation, wind, diarrhoea, and dyspepsia. Yoghurt and food combining often suit.
The cell salt is potassium sulphate, known as a strong purifier and a regulator of oxygen use in tissue.
Good sources are chicory, endive, cress, wheat, oats, rye, cheese and almonds.

LIBRA

Body Parts: Kidney, ear, Fallopian tubes.
Color: All pastels, but particularly rose and aqua.
Gemstone: Diamond, Turquoise.
Cell Salt: Sodium phosphate.
LIBRA IS POSITIVE, DRY AND BALANCED.
Libra is usually temperate in eating and drinking, and throws little strain on the kidneys and endocrine system, but can overdo it with gourmet foods and delicacies. When under stress the hormonal balance may be affected. Overindulgence in food gives kidney trouble mainly, and the skin may be affected through impure blood, and Librans should drink plenty of water. There is often a lack of muscle and nerve tone, and exhaustion will result when Libran balance is disturbed.
Sodium phosphate has much to do with body balance. Its particularly involved with the acid-alkali balance and charge balance maintained by the kidneys.
Good foods are carrots, asparagus, silverbeet, corn, rice, figs, apples, strawberries, peaches, almonds and raisins.

SCORPIO

Body Parts: The sex organs and hormones, All orifices.
Color: Dark red.
Gemstone: Garnet. Cell Salt:
Calcium sulphate.
SCORPIO IS WATERY, INTENSE, MAGNETIC AND NEGATIVE.
Scorpio being a magnetic sign often tends to attract disease, and it is only by utilising the self-cleansing, eliminative side of the sign that good health is maintained. Scorpio governs the reproductive organs, and the final channels of elimination from the body - the anus, the urethra, the colon, ears and nostrils. It has much to do generally with the elimination of toxins from the blood, and if the excretory systems break down, Scorpio is more prone to toxaemia than any other sigh. Excesses of appetite and desire are a particular source of toxic trouble, and may lead to venereal disease, hernia, piles, boils, fevers, appendicitis, menstrual irregularities and discharges.
Calcium sulphate has much to do with the effective discharge of toxins.
Foods high in this salt are onions, asparagus, garlic, watercress, mustard, greens, leeks, radishes, cauliflower, figs, black cherries, prunes and gooseberries.

SAGITTARIUS

Body Parts: The liver and sacral spine, The thighs and haunches.
Color: Deep blue, purple.
Gemstone: Amethyst.
Cell Salt: Silica.
SAGITTARIUS IS ACTUVE, OPTIMISTIC, BOLD AND DARING.
Sagittarians have a love of speed and adventure, and a great affinity with horses, with the consequence of frequent accidents - cuts, injuries, bites and kicks from animals. There is also a tendency to overindulge in the good things in life, imposing a toxic strain on the liver and pancreas. Common illnesses are sciatica, lumbago, hepatitis and diabetes. Under stress, the nervous system may be easily depleted.
Silica is important in the strength and endurance of tissue such as ligament, tendon, nails, skin and hair.
Silica is found in oats, rye, rice, figs, strawberries, prunes, parsnips, cherries and the skins of fruits and vegetables.

CAPRICORN

Body Parts: All bones, but especially the knees.
Color: Brown, black.
Gemstone: Blue sapphire, Jet.
Cell Salt: Calcium phosphate.
CAPRICORN IS COLD AND DRY, BEING CONTROVERSIAL, CAUTIOUS AND AMBITIOUS.
It is said that Capricorn grows younger with years, the health improving and the outlook brightening. Certainly hypochondria and gloom afflict the sign; morbid tendencies, despondence and discontent are often seen. Hence the illnesses are those of cold and limitation; crystallization problems such as arthritis, disorders of bone and teeth, poor circulation and constipation. The knees are often affected.
The cell salt calcium phosphate is important nutrition of bone, and helps stabilise the nervous system.
It is found in dairy products, cabbage, asparagus, lentils, beans, spinach, eggs, meat, wheat, parsley, strawberries, figs, blueberries and plums.

AQUARIUS

Color: Electric blue.
Gemstone: White zircon.
Cell Salt: Sodium chloride.
AQUARIUS IS QUICK, IMPULSIVE, DRY AND NERVOUS.
Aquarius is liable to nervous and energy disorganisation through worry, anxiety and nervous stress. The illnesses are often peculiar, having few tangible symptoms. The are primarily diseases of etheric flow, and are best treated by acupuncture, homoeopathy, spiritual healing and energy balancing. The circulation is especially affected, varicose veins, cold hands and feet, and cramping of the calves being common disorders. Extreme affliction may lead to such conditions as excessive constriction of the arteries of the hands, epilepsy and circulatory failure.
The cell salt Sodium chloride, and Aquarius may often be addicted to salt, which can cause fluid retention and blood pressure problems. The best approach is to cut dietary salt down to no more than about a gram a day, and use the cell salt as a balancer and normaliser.
Good food sources are seafoods, meat, cabbage, corn, spinach, asparagus, celery, radishes, lentils, strawberries, apples, figs, almonds and sesame seeds.

PISCES

Body Parts: The feet, The immune system, Blood protein.
Color: All the colors of the sea.
Gemstone: Aquamarine.
Cell Salt: Iron phosphate.
PISCES IS COLD, WATERY, RECEPTIVE AND PSYCHIC.
Pisces suffers from scattered disorganised life energies and emotionally induced disorders, anxiety and apprehension being common causes. The sign is highly suggestible and the illnesses are often produced by psychic states, as often the aura can be strongly affected. There is liability to drug taking and self-indulgence. The movement of fluids in the body under the special rulership of Pisces, and disorders of oedema and fluid retention are common - especially in the feet. There is a notable tendency for the sign to look either dried out or soggy, although Pisces should always drink plenty of water. There is a liability to hormone imbalances.
The cell salt is iron phosphate, having much to do with the blood protein and resistance to infection.
Good food sources are spinach, lettuce, parsley, liver, beef, strawberries, radishes, cucumbers, almonds and raisins.

Body salts and their corresponding Astrology Signs

A friend thought the astrological correspondences for the 12 Cell Salts would be an article many would find useful, so welcome to today's subject for consideration. The 12 cell salts are considered to be necessary to our health, and I have found over the years that the salts corresponding to the Ascendant and sign on the 6th house are very important in our biochemical workings.
The 12 Cell Salts and Their Astrology Signs | in5d.com
The Ascendant, of course, represents the physical vehicle and therefore the primary chemical makeup of a person. The sign on the 6th house also shows important factors concerning the physical health, since the 6th represents the health of an individual. I've also found that if a person has a stellium (3 or more planets) in a given sign, that mineral salt needs to be kept in the diet regularly, as do the substances ruled by the Moon sign, since the Moon rules our absorption and is active in our biochemical processes on a constant basis.
Apart from these few suggestions, there are other astrological factors that show our need for various salts. However, thanks to our fascist AMA, there are some strict laws governing what can and cannot be said regarding our health and what substances we might need. Therefore I cannot offer suggestions in this forum as to what you may need.
So that you may get the maximum benefit from this article, in addition to offering you the sign correspondences, I'll also offer you a few foods that are high in certain salts. Obviously there are other foods with these mineral salts in them, so don't confine yourself to what you read here. Please feel free to explore the subject to whatever degree you are called to do so, and if you find that certain salts (or foods) seem beneficial to your health, then by all means find the diet and/or supplements that work for you.

Death Valley 'Sailing Stones' Mystery solved

sailing stones
Heavy rocks like these seem to slide across the surface of Racetrack Playa in Death Valley National Park.
For years, scientists have been puzzled by the mysterious "sailing stones" of Death Valley.
Located in a remote area of California's Death Valley National Park, the heavy stones appear to move across the dried lake bed known as Racetrack Playa, leaving a trail behind them in the cracked mud.
The rocks' apparent movement has been blamed on everything from space aliens and magnetic fields to pranksters. But no one has actually seen the rocks move, which only adds to the mystery. [Images: One-of-a-Kind Places on Earth]out there, and it's very open — and you tend to have the playa to yourself," park ranger Alan van Valkenburg toldSmithsonian.com. "And the longer you stay out there, it just takes on this incredible sense of mystery."
Scientists have tried to solve the puzzle of the sailing stones for decades. Some researchers thought that dust devils might move the rocks, some of which weigh as much as 700 lbs. (318 kilograms).
Other researchers believed the strong winds that frequently whip across the vast lake bed could cause the rocks to slide across the ground. These and other theories were eventually disproved, leaving scientists without an explanation.
In some cases the rocks' trails were measured to be as long as 820 feet (250 meters), according to Slate.com. Some of the trails formed a graceful curve, while other trails created a straight line, then an abrupt shift to the left or right, which further baffled researchers.

From outer space to Death Valley
In 2006, Ralph Lorenz, a NASA scientist investigating weather conditions on other planets, took an interest in Death Valley. Lorenz was particularly keen on comparing the meteorological conditions of Death Valley to those near Ontario Lacus, a vast hydrocarbon lake on Titan, a moon of Saturn.
But while investigating Death Valley, he became intrigued by the enigmatic sailing stones of Racetrack Playa.
Lorenz developed a kitchen-table model — using an ordinary Tupperware container — to show how the rocks might glide across the surface of the lake bed.
"I took a small rock and put it in a piece of Tupperware, and filled it with water so there was an inch of water with a bit of the rock sticking out," Lorenz told Smithsonian.com.
After putting the container in the freezer, Lorenz ended up with a small slab of ice with a rock embedded in it. By placing the ice-bound rock in a large tray of water with sand at the bottom, all he had to do was gently blow on the rock to get it to move across the water.
And as the ice-embedded rock moved, it scraped a trail in the sand at the tray's bottom. Lorenz devised his clever experiment by researching how the buoyancy of ice can cause large rocks, when encased in ice, to move by floating along tidal beaches in the Arctic Sea.
Preferring mysteries to science
Lorenz's research team calculated that under certain winter conditions in Death Valley, enough water and ice could form to float the rocks across the muddy bottom of Racetrack Playa in a light breeze, leaving a trail in the mud as the rocks moved.
Nonetheless, some visitors to Death Valley seem to prefer more occult explanations for the sailing stones.

"People always ask, 'What do you think causes them to move?' But if you try to explain, they don't always want to hear the answers," van Valkenburg said. "People like a mystery — they like an unanswered question."
